Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

I get asked a lot about the things I use to build software, stay productive, or to fool myself into thinking I’m being productive when I’m really just procrastinating on a plane. Here’s a big list of all of my favorite stuff.

Workstation

  • 16” MacBook Pro, Intel Core i9 (2019)

Big thanks to Thenura from Shopify for sponsoring my career.

  • Keychron K4 Mechanical Keyboard

The perfect blend of nostalgia and functionality.

  • iPad 10th Generation

Ideal for reading and watching videos, especially when traveling. Its portability makes it a perfect companion for on-the-go entertainment, especially on flights.

  • Autonomous Chair

If I’m going to slouch in the worst ergonomic position imaginable all day, I might as well do it in an expensive chair.

Development tools

  • VS Code

I don’t care if it’s missing all of the fancy IDE features everyone else relies on, VS Code is still the best code editor ever.

Design

  • Figma

We started using Figma as just a design tool but now it’s become our virtual whiteboard for the entire company. Never would have expected the collaboration features to be the real hook.

Productivity

  • Notion

Notion is like the Swiss Army knife for organizing thoughts, tasks, and projects. It’s the backbone of my daily workflow and project management, keeping everything streamlined and in one place.

  • Check out how I flew YYZ to SIN for $150

  • Calendly

Scheduling made simple. Calendly takes the back-and-forth out of finding meeting times. It’s a game changer for managing appointments and syncing with my calendar effortlessly.

  • Gear

    • Osprey Farpoint 55L

Great for going in and out of airports. It’s carry-on size, half luggage and half backpack - perfect for solo travelling. Would also highly recommend a luggage lock.

    • Arc'teryx Beta LT Hybrid

The only rain jacket you need.
